Mom's apple cider
Cinnamon rolls
Orange Julius
Place 6 oz. frozen orange juice, 1 c. water, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 c. milk, 1/2 c. sugar, and 12 ice cubesin a blender. Whip all ingredients until smooth.
Chocolate Sauce
Mix 1/2 c. cocoa and 1/2 c. sugar in a pan. Add 1/2 C. water and mix. Add heat until almost boiling, take off heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla
Potato Bean Soup
Cook and stir 1 c. sliced celery, 4 medium carrots, shredded, 2 minced cloves of garlic, and 4 tsp. melted margarine over medium heat until tender (4 min). Stir in 8 c. broth, 6 cut and peeled medium potatoes, and 2 tsp. dried dillweed. Heat to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Mash half of potatoes in the broth. Add 2-15 oz. cans of drained Cannellini or Great Northern Beans to the mixture. Mix together in a small bowl 1/2 c. low calorie dairy sour cream or plain nonfat yogurt, 1 tbsp flour, and 1/8 tsp pepper. Stir into the potato mixture. Cook ans stir until thickened and bubbly (1 min).
Colossal Pina Colada
Combine 2 c. skim milk, 2 c. unsweetened pinapple juice(freeze pinapple juice in trays prior to making this), 1 tbsp. vanilla, 1 tbsp. coconut extract, and 2 tbsp sugar in blender. Blend until frothy.
Manicotti
Mix 1 egg, 1 carton Ricotta cheese, 3 tbsp parmesan cheese, 3 c. Mozzerella cheese, 1 tbsp parsley flakes, 2 tsp sugar, and a dash of salt and pepper in a bowl. Stuff mixture into one package of manicotti shells. Heat 1 jar of spaghetti sauce and 8 oz. water in a pan until boiling. Pour sauce over the stuffed shells in a 9x13 pan. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Remove foil for the last 5 minutes.
Oven Caramel Corn
Boil 2 c. brown sugar, 2 sticks margarine, 1/2 c. corn syrup, and 1 tsp salt together for 5 minutes. add 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp vanilla to the mixture. stir over 6 quarts popped popcorn. Spread on cookie sheets covered in aluminum foil. Bake at 200 for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Play-dough
Mix 1 c. flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tbsp cream of tarter, and 1 envelope of Kool-Aid (unsweetened) together. Add 1 c. water and 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Stir over medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until mixture forms a ball in the center of the pan. Remove to floured surface. Knead for 1 minute. Store in an airtight container.
Vegetable Pot pie
Combine 1 can mixed vegetables, 1 can cream of potato soup, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 tsp dried thyme, and 1/2 tsp. black pepper. Spoon into bottom of prepared, thawed, pie crust. Cover with top crust and crimp edges to seal. Slit top crust. Bake for 40 minutes at 375, cool for 10 minutes.
Caprese
Cut 1 1/2 cups of fresh mozzarella cheese (you can find it in the 'expensive' cheeses section at grocery stores, it is softer, spongier cheese than typical cheese) into slices. Soak it in 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar while preparing the rest of the recipe. Slice 2 large tomatoes and arrange on plates, alternating with the cheese. Remove basil stems of fresh basil leaves. Chop and sprinkle over cheese and tomato. Drizzle with 1/4 cup of olive oil. Sprinkle with oregano and pepper. You can also sprinkle with 1/4-1/2 of chopped red onion if you want.
